About the Engineering Graduate Program

The School of Engineering offers nine Ph.D. and M.S. degree programs in exciting cutting-edge research areas. Our programs are recognized for their outstanding combination of innovative research and faculty excellence, competitive graduate support, a vibrant campus and community, access to exceptional laboratory facilities and devices, and proximity to major urban centers.

Engineering underpins everything in our daily lives, from smart phones and digital book readers to jet engines and energy. In keeping with the trend toward greater integration with other disciplines, our engineering faculty and graduate students work closely with colleagues in a myriad of disciplines, in areas that include pharmaceutical, marine and agricultural sciences; chemistry, physics, biology and geography; medicine and dental medicine; even digital media and design.

We offer professional development seminars, workshops and networking events; entrepreneurial opportunities; and a variety of social, cultural and sports activities that enrich your experience. Our students enjoy ample opportunities to:

  • Publish scholarly research with their faculty adviser
  • Present research at professional conferences;
  • Mentor fellow graduate and undergraduate students, and participate in K-12 outreach; and
  • Contribute to the state of the art in your field of interest.
